I created Poetry Palace during the pandemic and it gathered 1K followers on Clubhouse. We had a powerful atmosphere of creativity and connection. There were musicians who would show up as well and start to play music along with the poetry artist.

However, I sadly experienced a lot of toxicity in the community and it turned me off to the point I left.

I created Poetry Palace to re-connect with my poetry and ended up self publishing my first poetry book!

What turned me off was how cut throat I found the poetry community to be, that one anyway, and that just does not work for me, nor us.

My purpose, besides simply enjoying myself and connecting with like-minded poetry lovers, was and is to bring poetry to everyone who is interested. Poetry is for everyone. If you write a poem, you are a poet. And anyone can write a poem! I do not believe in a hierarchy of poetry, I do believe in respecting artists, but I do not believe that means denigrating yourself if you are new to an art form. Absolutely not. All are welcome here!

Whether it's your first time writing or you've been writing for years, this is a space where everyone is respected and treated with care with the goal of having fun and inspiring each other!

If you are indeed new to poetry, or have been a lover of poetry and either never dared believe you could be a poet as well, or have wanted to write but have been terrified- I'm here to support you in that process!

You ABSOLUTELY can write poetry! Everyone with a desire, can.

I refuse to comply with gatekeeping poetry- POETRY BELONGS TO EVERYONE!
